It is the first film to feature the World Series of Poker and it’s on-air-talent including newly signed babe Courtney Friel, veteran card shark Mike Sexton and Hollywood Poker’s Vince Van Patten.

As great as it is having the WPT folks on the big screen, most people will be in the movie theatre to see Deal's stars, screen legend Burt Reynolds and newcomer Bret Harrison. Reynolds will play a veteran poker pro who takes a young college student under his wing and teaches him how to play your opponents and not the cards. Everything works out well for Harrison’s character, a little too well and Reynolds must face his protégé at the World Series Of Poker.

That’s where the movie gets interesting for poker players like you and me. The World Poker Tour staff will offer their colorful commentary on the mock game. There will also be a appearances by poker greats like Shannon Elizabeth, WPT stars Phil "The Unabomber" Laak, Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiar .

You could even be in the movie yourself, all you have to do is play in the 2006 WPT World Championship and in addition to winning the big prize you could be in a movie with Burt Reynolds.

The Hollywood Poker Celebrity Classic Update

Sunday, a day for relaxing, sleeping in and of course playing poker. The show is called Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker and it follows the day-to-day activities of various poker players. There’s a wide range of poker players on the show, they include professional players, celebrity players and of course online poker players. This should make for an interesting show.

No poker show would be complete without a poker game and Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker will feature a poker game at the end of each episode, the prize for the final game is for $500,000.

The show will be hosted by the creator of Bodog Calvin Ayre and will have Miss World Canada Nazanin Afshin-Jam and recording artist Nazanin hosting alongside with him.

There will be stars on the show like Josh Malina (West Wing), Willie Garson (Sex in the City), Jennifer Tilley, musician Willa Ford and Ultimate Fighting Champ Chuck "Iceman" Liddell. There will also be poker professionals like Phil Laak, all of whom are competing for the same prize with everyday online poker players like you and me. This will make for some interesting poker.

I like the idea of the show, they are doing something that no one has really done with a poker show by letting the camera follow these 40 poker players during their everyday life. There are a lot of people like me who wonder what it is like to be a pro poker player and now we may have an idea.

Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker is going the be a weekly three-hour-show, I have to say that I was kind of surprised when I saw the length of the show, but it should still be good.

Anyways, I thought I would pass on the word and if you get a chance you should really check out Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker.

How To Decode The Da Vinci Code

There has been a lot of attention on the Da Vinci Code over the last couple years, but there has been a lot of attention lately on Dan Brown’s novel for other reasons.

It was interesting last night when I was flipping through the channels and every channel had something on about the legal battle started by Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh, the authors of the 1982 book Holy Blood, Holy Grail.

Like most of you I have read the Da Vinci Code and I have to admit that I have not read the Holy Blood, Holy Grail, but from what I have heard this whole legal battle is a little too much.

Brown did research Holy Blood, Holy Grail while writing the Da Vinci Code. I have heard that there are references to its authors on Brown’s website and there are characters in the novel named after the previous book’s authors.

This is all about money if you ask me. The Da Vinci Code has been a huge success and there is an upcoming big budget film starring Tom Hanks based on the book, they are saying that they may have to delay or block the film adaptation's release because of these problems.

Most authors are also huge readers. I really don’t think there has ever been a book written without the influence of another author. A book like the Da Vinci Code is loaded with plenty of religious theory and Holy Blood, Holy Grail was a good source for the information. Ironically enough both of the books are published by the same company, Random House.

The Da Vinci Code was a great book and provided many water cooler discussions and I really hate to see a novel like this get questioned for plagiarism, especially with the arguments I have heard.

The Story of the Bad Beat

Every person you speak to will tell you that they have suffered the worst bad beat in the history of poker. I know that I have been on the short end of some bad beats, but by no means would say that mine are the most traumatic.

I think at the end of the day it all works out for me. I have fluked out on more pots than those lost on a bad beat. The worst bad beat that has happened to me in recent time occurred during the weekend.

It was far into the game and I had a slight chip lead, enough for people realize I was having a good game. I was dealt pocket queens, everyone wanted to pay to see the blind so I made it as cheap as possible for everyone to see some cards. The tables showed low rags nothing that really helped me, but it seemed like there were no cards on the table that could hurt me. This time I made a small bet, to my surprise it was matched with an all-in call by the person sitting beside me. This early in the game there was no way that I was going to fold my hand and I called his bet.

I flopped down my pair of ladies and looked across the table to see a seven and three, off-suited. What was he thinking? I knew he now had a pair of threes, but come on. As you could probably imagine the next card flipped was another three, this gave my opponent three of a kind and allowed him to take most of my chips.

Whenever someone beats me, I try to be a good sport, but in this case it was hard.

Like I said before, I am sure that many of you have had bad beat stories, that’s one of my many and I am sure there will be more to come.

It's Time For The Oscar Awards

Well the 2006 Academy Award nominations were announced and I really don’t think there were any big surprises. Looking through the nominations this year reminds you of the nominations for the other big awards show the Golden Globes.

Most people are saying that Brokeback Mountain will do well at this year’s awards with movies like Walk the Line, Good Night, and Good Luck and Capote getting some award attention in their direction.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Daily Show host Jon Stewart hosting the show. I think that his style of comedy may not be what a lot of the Oscar’s faithful viewers are use to.

As you can tell by reading my blog, I am a fan of award shows and I am a fan of poker. I am trying to get some of my friends to make some friendly wagers with me on the Oscars. I’m picking Brokeback Mountain to win best picture and I’m thinking that Walk the Line will win a couple of acting trophies.

Anyways feel free to write your picks for Oscar winners in the Movie Star Poker guest book and we’ll see if your right!

I was on a roll last night, no one could stop me. I just kept getting the right cards and making the right calls. It was crazy, it was my best game of poker and I was enjoying every moment of it. During the whole game it seemed like I could not make a bad call. If I wanted to bluff a hand I scared people away with little effort, when I wanted them to play, people went all-in with me.

It got to the point where I was taking out players two, sometimes three at a time and their chips kept getting added to my stack.

As great of game as I had last night, I know the reality behind it. I know that the next game I play, the cards will not like me in any way. When you have a good game like I had you should start preparing for a bad streak to hit you. Poker seems to always equal out like that when it comes to streaks.

By the end of the game last night I was just having fun against the people at my table. I was making all-in calls with nothing better than a seven and a two pre-flop and I just watched everyone around me fold and they were most likely folding hands that were better than mine. I basically just played the way other people play against me when their stack towers over mine.

Anyways that’s poker for you, when you have a game like I had last night you just have to be realistic about it and realize that tomorrow is a new day.

Golden Globe Winners Announced

Well I have to say that I am happy with this year’s winners at the Golden Globes. I have not seen a lot of the films or actors who were nominated, but I do know what to rent on DVD when the time comes.

I was really happy to see the film Walk the Line clean up this year. This is a film I have watched and it was one that I have mentioned in this blog a couple times. I guess I’m not the only one who thought the film was one of this year’s best efforts.

After watching Walk the Line I would have a hard seeing any actors other than Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon. They brought two real people back to life with their performances and they even played their own music for the film.

Another film that came up on top was Brokeback Mountain starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger. I have not seen this movie, but I have heard a lot of really good things about it.

Award shows like the Golden Globes are great ways to figure out what movies to check out when your not sure if there’s anything good out. There were a lot small independent films that either won or were nominated. These films may not have gotten the same attention if it was not for the Golden Globes.

The Season of the Award Show

As most of the readers will know from this blog, I am a huge movie person. In addition to loving movies, I love award shows, please don't judge me.

I just heard that Jon Stewart is hosting the Oscars this year, I am sure that this will be an interesting show and there will probably be some people that will feel a little insulted by the Daily Show host’s humor. Personally I am looking forward to it.

This upcoming Monday the Golden Globe Awards will be presented, these awards usually offer a window into who will come up on top with Oscar wins. There are a lot of good actors and films up for awards and I am sure that you will hear many of the same names mentioned in the same sentence as Oscar in the near future.

There has been a lot said and written about the film Brokeback Mountain and the nature of the film. I heard an interview with the movie’s star and Best Actor Nominee Heath Ledger. He basically said that the homosexual storyline of the film has caused some people to demand a banning of the film, Ledger explained that he believes this is part of the reason why it is doing so well.

I wrote about Walk the Line in an earlier blog and I really did enjoy this movie and I think it will do really well in both the Golden Globes and the Oscars eventually. I know that Jamie Foxx won some awards for playing Ray Charles in Ray last year, but that should not take anything away from Joaquin Phoenix’s performance as Johnny Cash.

Anyways these are just a few of the movies that are catching the attention of award shows; trust me there are many more that are in contention. It’s really too bad that I don’t get to pick the winners.

While looking up information for this week's blog I came across an interesting Golden Globes site. The site is called <A HREF="http://www.goldenglobesfilmnews.com"TARGET="_blank">Golden Globe Film News and it has a lot of information about the people and films up for awards this year.

King Kong Is One Tough Monkey

Over the holidays I saw the movie King Kong and let me tell you, it was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I mean it has a giant monster ape and Jack Black, it really could not go wrong in my opinion.

For those of you who are thinking about seeing it I have to give you a heads up on the length of the film, I think it was over three hours, but it is really worth it.

It’s hard to write about movies because you really don’t want to give too much information away about the movie, but I guess the original version of this film as been around since the beginning of film.

All the actors in the film did a great job, considering the fact that the star of the film was a CGI ape. Jack Black, Naomi Watts, Adrien Brody and Colin Hanks all helped give the film a human touch and I have to say that Black played one of the nastiest characters I have seen in a very long time.

As good as these actors are in the film, King Kong steals the show. Whether he is battling people, dinosaurs or traffic in the Big Apple, Kong is one monkey that you don’t want to miss with.

So if you have some extra time and a couple extra bucks I would definitely recommend watching this movie on the big screen, it will not be as easy to give a 25-foot-ape his true respect watching him on television when King Kong is on DVD.

Best Television Show Of All-Time

I bought myself an early Christmas present over the weekend. Over the weekend I saw a DVD set of Seinfeld in the store window of a local electronics store and could not resist.

Okay, I know I’m not the first to say it, but Seinfeld has got to be one of the best television shows that has ever existed. I rediscovered it again last night while getting through most of the episodes in the fifth season that I bought.

There have been a lot of shows that have been largely influenced by the work that Seinfeld and the gang were doing nearly 10 years ago. It’s funny some of the more raunchy comedy, knowing what else was out at the time these shows aired. I think the “Master of Your Domain” episode probably raised some Cheers-watching-eyesbrows back in the day.

I asked a couple of my friends if they wanted to come over to watch a couple episodes with me and I was shut down, apparently there are a lot of you out there who are not into Seinfeld, in fact I get the vibe that there are some of you actually don’t like the show.

Anyways there’s my rant about Seinfeld and by the way have a great Christmas everybody and thanks for visiting my site.

Richard Pryor, One America's Funniest People

As most of you know the world has lost on of it’s funniest people over the weekend with the death of Richard Pryor.

Without Richard Pryor we would not have Jerry Seinfeld or Chris Rock. He took what other comics were doing in the 60’s and added his own stamp to it. A lot of his comedy was about the racial issues happening in America and his upfront style caused people to listen to what he had to say.

The great thing about Pryor was that he was funny to everyone, to black and white people.

He was successful even through some of the problems he had during his life. He grew up in a brothel that his grandmother owned. As an adult he battled a heavy drug problem, in the 80’s he nearly burned himself to death while lighting cocaine.

At the end of the day Pryor used his troubled background and experiences for his comedy. A visit to Africa made him look at the racial issues in America and made him stop using certain words in his routine.

The comedy world should be thankful that it had someone like Richard Pryor.

Upcoming Holiday Movies

There are a lot of upcoming movies over the holidays to choose from and I thought that I help by breaking some down for you.

King Kong

This one will be good, I’m sure that I will probably watch it as soon as it comes out. I mean it’s got King Kong and Jack Black in it, directed by Peter Jackson, I don’t think there’s a change that it will be bad.

All The King’s Men

This will be the movie you’ll want to watch if you’re in for a drama and some good acting. The film’s got Sean Penn and Jude Law in it. Lately it seems like Sean Penn gets nominated for every role he takes and I’m sure this movie won’t be an exception.

Fun With Dick and Jane

I have to say that I have never seen a bad Jim Carrey movie (well there was that one about restoring the movie theatre, that was fairly bad). In this movie Carrey stars with Téa Leoni as a couple who starts to make their living from being criminals. I’m sure this movie will be a funny and probably one you can take the kids to.

The New World

There was a preview for this movie on television a couple days ago. It’s a story about Pocahontas, but I’m sure this one won’t have any singing animals in it. This will be a good flick to check out during the holidays.

My Poker Fluke

A certain element of a good poker palyer can be determined by skill, but a lot of it really has to with the luck of the cards and I found this out last night.

I had nothing the whole game and when I did have something everyone at the table would fold. Twice during the game I had pocket aces and I probably $50 in chips between the two hands. No one wanted to play when I had the cards and when I had an okay hand everyone wanted to play and raies the stakes.

At this point I knew I wanted to try something a little different, a little unorthodox. Pocket aces came into my hand again, as usual I bluffed for the first round of betting not wanting to scare anyone away with my upcoming bullets.

Then the first flop came out, two aces on the flop, giving me a quad set of aces. There was also a two that came on the table, nothing that scary. Again I checked to the one other person that was still in the game with me. The next card that came out was another two, I could sorta tell that they were happy to see it. This is when my new poker idea came into play.

I told the person beside me that I had pocket aces, I even told them what suit they were. That's right I told them exactly what I had. Even though it went to plan I was surprised when they said that was the worst bluff they ever heard as they gestured to their chips that were going all in. I was really surprised it actually worked, definitely making the highlight reel of poker life.

Needless to say they did have the three twos, but I has the quad aces.

Some Interesting Movies Coming This Weekend

There are a couple of interesting movies coming out in movie theatres this weekend. Of course there is the new Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The other movie that I think will be interesting will be the Johnny Cash biography Walk the Line.

Everyone knows that Harry Potter will be very successful this year and if you liked the other ones I’m sure that you will like this one. I’m not a huge Harry Potter fan, but I don’t mind watching it either. I think the last one scarred me, I ended up watching the movie three times in the theatres because various friends wanting to see it with me.

The cool thing about these movies is their appeal to children and adults alike. I have seen evidence first-hand of kids wanting to read these books because of the popularity of the movie and that of course is a great thing.

Walk the Line is the movie I am looking forward to seeing. I am a huge Johnny Cash fan and a huge fan of all of his songs. Everyone knows that he led an interesting life and I’m sure that it would be great material for a Hollywood biopic of him.

There have a lot of good movies about musical legends over the last couple years with movies about Ray Charles and Bobby Darren and it looks like Joaquin Phoenix is going to do a good job. I read today that he sings all the music in the film and went through a lot of training to sing like Cash. He won’t act or sound exactly like Cash, but it’s a movie about him, you can always put on a record if you want to hear Johnny Cash.

I have seen the previews for the movie and they seem really interesting to me. There as been some news about certain members of the Cash family having issues with the movie, but I am still interested in seeing it.

This year I have a Harry Potter idea. I will go watch with my friends, but only if they watch Walk the Line with me. I think this plan will work, I’ll keep you posted.

There's More to Life Than Hold'em

As many of you know I am a regular player on <A HREF="http://www.hollywood.com/?affid=131101"TARGET="_blank">Hollywood Poker
, but most of you don’t know is the new tables they just added to the site.

Now you can play Omaha High, Omaha High/Low, 7-Card Stud, 7-Card Stud High/Low and 5-Card Draw. I am definitely a Texas Hold’em kind of guy, but it’s a nice change to play these other types of poker.

I made my way to an Omaha High/Low table last night, it had been awhile since I played this kind of poker, but I thought that I would try my luck. I actually did fairly well, I made the top three on my first game and I got second in the next game. That being said I really don’t want to go into details about the third game I played, let’s just say I did not make the great impression to my poker peers at the table.

There are both limit and no limit Omaha High/Low tables and I learned last night that if you’re a little rusty at the game like myself you’re going to want to make your way to a limit table.

I’m thinking about trying a 7-Card Stud High/Low game tonight when I get a chance and see how I do at that. So maybe I’ll see you at the table and hopefully I don’t lose too much money.

Boredom is a Poker Player's Achilles Heel

The only thing worst at losing a poker game is really getting played by the person that takes your chips and that my online friends is exactly what happened to me over the weekend.

It was just a friendly game with a $20 buy in, featuring everyone from all different skill levels. The game consisted of eating chili, drinking beer and playing some poker in between.

The best way to describe my hands that game were ugly. I never had an ace in my hand during the whole game and had pocket pair once. People at the table were winning on bluffs and for the most part they were not even close to good bluffs, but there was little I could do about it from were I was sitting with the hands I kept getting dealt.

I eventually would get some decent cards and win a couple small pots, this helped regain some of the blinds I had lost and of course helped me regain some confidence.

I’m not sure what’s worst a bad poker player with good cards, or me at the time a decent player who was really bored from folding.

It got the point were I had pocket nines, this was probably the best hand I had in two hours of poker. The last few pots were won on bad bluffing, where having a 10 in your hand would probably be enough to beat the people betting high against you.

On the first flop a pair of jacks came up on the table. Everyone pretty much folded except for one other person. She was one of the people raking in the chips from bluffing and she bet high. Before the river was even turned she bet me the majority of her chips. Here’s my thinking at the time. The last couple hands she had nothing and won, besides the two jacks I had the highest pair and the fact she bid so big told me that she did not have the jack and was trying to scare me away.

I went all-in and she called me. As most of you can guess I was out of the game, she did in fact have the jack. There's my poker story from the weekend.

Check Out the Family Guy Movie

I have a confession to make, like most of America I am addicted to the Family Guy. I have just watched the Family Guy Presents: Stewie Griffin - The Untold Story.

I think laughed from when I put the DVD in until when I took it out. It was like the show except it had some jokes that would probably not be aired on television. At the same time there was not any useless swearing just so they could put in there for the sake of swearing.

I never thought that there would be a show that would even compete with the Simpson’s, but I think I have to say that the Family Guy is better than the Simpson’s.

It’s hard to write about the movie without giving too much about the story away. Basically the Griffin family makes a movie about Stewie’s encounters with his future self. Along the way there a lot of your typical Family Guy jokes.

If you’re a fan of the television show the Family Guy, than you defiantly enjoy the Family Guy Presents: Stewie Griffin - The Untold Story.

The Government Should Stay Away From Poker Tables

There have been some people in the American government that have been trying to ban online gambling. I’m sure I am not the only one that does not understand the reasoning behind these arguments.

Instead of trying to ban online gambling the government should try to work with the sites to come with some kind of system that will make sure sites are regulated and the government can make some tax money on the side.

Let’s say some of these elected officials get their way and people like you and me are not able to go on American poker sites to play. I know that I would probably still be playing poker online, it would just be on a site from another country without these laws. Basically all the government would be doing would be taking money away from an American company and aiding gambling sites on the other side of the world.

I’m sure most gambling sites would be more than happy to pay money to regulate the online gambling market, making sure it is a safe place to have a little fun.

If I want to have some fun and spend some of the money I’ve earned playing Texas Hold’em online, that’s my choice and the government really has no say into it.

Hey,

Did anyone watch the Conan O’Brian Show last night? I did stay up a little past my bedtime to watch the show, because one of my favorite celebrity poker players James Woods was on the show last night.

James Woods has this online poker site on the internet called <a href="http://www.hollywoodpoker.com "TARGET="_blank">Hollywood Poker I have been to this site a lot lately and I really like it. He talked a little about the site last night and about how online poker and real poker are different.

It’s fun to poker online and also to play in person, both ways have their strategies. When you play poker online you basically want to keep a close eye on your opponents playing trends and use that knowledge to take the prize home. With face-to-face poker you can see how the person reacts when they see the flop, listen to how they talk about their hands. I play a lot of online poker, but would never turn down a face-to-face game.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose

Hey,

The other day I watched the Exorcism of Emily Rose. I was dragged to it by some friends when really all I wanted to do was to play in my nightly online poker game. Though I was shocked, it was actually a good movie. Even my friend who hates scary movies enjoy it as it's more clever and insightful than scary. It makes you think could demons really exists? Was she really possessed? Or was she just Schizophrenic?

I highly recommend this movie.

Funny Poker Jokes and Poker Cartoons

Hey ladies and gents,

I have modified the Poker Jokes section on my Movie Star Poker website. There's Something About Mary was almost the best movie I have ever seen, as I had never laughed so hard constantly in my life befor watching Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller in that film.

In Fever Pitch, Fallon plays an insane Boston Red Sox fan. He sleeps on Red Sox pillows, wears Red Sox jerseys and dreams all about them. Drew Barrymore tells Fallon, "Your apartment looks like a gift shop." He fell in love with the Sox when he was a kid, what kind of chance does she have? At one game, she gets hit by a foul ball and knocked unconscious. He's too busy congratulating the guy who caught the ball to notice. I laughed constantly at this scene and really expect everyone to.

Fallon and Barrymore then fall in love. It's the ultimate boy-meets-girl, boy-loses-girl, team-loses-pennant love story that asks the question: Can love conquer all — even the curse of the Bambino, Babe Ruth?

I really enjoyed this film as it showed how great of an actress Barrymore has become. Jimmy is ok, but this film definitely makes you like the Red Sox...GO BOSTON!

Ben Affleck Engaged to Jennifer Garner

Here is some Hollywood Movie Star News! However, reviews of Oscar hosts is usually harsh. That is the main reason why few people want to host two years in a row, according to Bruce Davis, executive director of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The 78th Academy Awards will be in March 2006.

What makes matters worse is that in August Frank Pierson calls it quits as academy president, having completed a four-year term. But, before leaving, he'll choose the next Oscar producer, who in turn chooses the host for the Oscars.

Last year Chris Rock helped ABC attract over 41 million viewers. That was down 2 million from 2004, but ratings were up from last year among viewers aged 18 to 34. This boost in younger viewership was attributed to Rock by Davis.
Possible Oscar Hosts

Chris Rock
Hosted over one of the best shows in recent memory as Chris Rock had some funny bits, but never came close to being as dirty as was feared due to his standup act. Clearly, he was constrained by the event's sensibility and the ABC censors.
Billy Crystal
He has previously hosted the Oscars 8 times. He is known for his opening song-and-dance number poking fun at the top nominees. His sense of humor is a proven winner with viewers and his industry jokes play well to the industry audience.
Robin Williams
Robin was last seen at the Oscars with tape over his mouth to protest censoring of some of his gags. His manic energy is legendary as is his comedy.
David Letterman
Letterman hosted in 1995 and never was invited back. He was hurt by critics but he drew 81 million viewers to the Oscars.
Jay Leno
Leno is a late-night talk show host with minimal movie experience, but then again that didn't stop Johnny Carson. Leno would have to step up and change his nightly news humor.

E! Entertainment Hollywood Hold'em

In continuing with the celebrity poker popularity, E! television has put out Hollywood Hold’em, premiering on St. Patrick’s Day. Hollywood Hold’em differs from Celebrity Poker Showdown as a Hollywood celebrity opens his or her home to two celebrity friends, two not-so-famous buddies--and us! Hollywood Hold’em is hosted by Phil Laak, "The Unabomber" and professional poker player. Phil Laak also is a previous World Poker Tour Champion.

Hollywood Hold’em starts out with the celebrity host taking Hollywood Hold’em host Phil Laak around the home while discussing the interior design, and overall appearance of the house. Then the game commences and Laak, host and dealer for Hollywood Holdem, maintains the banter and trash talking until the game is done. The winning player collects $10,000 for themselves. That means no charity, it is all for fun, a flat out ten grand for the champ!

In the next Episode of Hollywood Hold’em, James Woods battles Vince van Patten for the ten grand. It should be fantastic!! Click here for more information about James Woods and Vince van Patten on Hollywood Hold’em.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://moviestarpoker.blogspot.com/2005/03/e-entertainment-hollywood-holdem.html' title='E! But I have been talking to some of my poker friends about different places to play online poker. Well, from what I found out Hollywood Poker had the most poker players, followed by Party and Poker Stars. It makes me extremely happy that the majority of people are playing at my favorite place to play online poker, Hollywood! If anyone reading this blog is trying to choose a safe and reliable online poker site they should play poker online at Hollywood Poker.

Anyways, I plan on updating the Poker Jokes section of my website in the next week and hopefully the Poker Movies section. So keep checking here or the website and give me your opinions on any changes that I have made.

Poker Weekend

Hello,

I just got back from a huge poker tournament that my college friends decided to have this weekend. It was so much fun, I had not seen many of my friends for years! We used to play 7 Card Stud twice a week back in the college days (usually Tuesday and Thursday). However, the tournament last weekend was texas holdem, due to its recently popularity. I miss playing seven card stud, but there is so much more excitement in texas holdem poker.

Well there was about 70 people total playing, and because there were so many of us we had to rent out a local club for the day. The game was limit texas holdem, so it took awhile before players starting falling from the tables. My best friend from college was the first poker player eliminated!! LMAO, she is probably reading this...sorry hun! Can't win much with a pair of 4's!! I was proud of myself as I finished 30th. Many players there play holdem alot more than I do, especially online poker.

We talked about many online poker card rooms, and I informed them about my favorite, Hollywood Poker. Everyone there knows my love for movie stars, and they all know how much I would love the opportunity to play poker online against celebrities!! And now I do with Hollywood Poker! Only a few of the poker players there had heard of Hollywood Poker, but now they all do! I hope they change from the "other" poker cardrooms to the cardroom "where the stars come to play".

Well thanks again for a wonderful weekend guys and girls, and let me know of any websites you guys have. You all know mine is Movie Star Poker!!

See you soon,

Jillian

Movie Star Poker Players

Movie Star Poker

Hi, my name is Jillian and this is my Movie Star Poker blog. I am going to talk about movie stars here and as you might have guessed POKER. I have a website, Movie Star Poker where I have wrote some information about poker and movie stars as well. I would appreciate any feedback you have concerning my Movie Star Poker website or this poker blog.

Movie Star Poker has a section for Movie Star Poker Players like Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Willie Garson, Shannon Elizabeth and other movie stars. I have some information about each movie stars biography and film history. I might actually add some info about the movie stars here as well and then add it to my poker website.

I also have help sections titled How to Play Texas Holdem, How to Play Omaha, and How to Play 7 Card Stud.

Also, there is a Poker Movie Review section that has reviews of famous poker movies like Rounders, Cincinnati Kid, Maverick, etc. Finally, I have added Poker Jokes to keep all you poker surfers entertained.

Now, I've ALWAYS loved movies & I'm ADDICTED to movie stars, I need to know the gossip. I swear, I have subscriptions to People, Us Weekly, Entertainment Weekly, Vanity Fair, etc etc and I've even been known to pick up a couple of those shady gossip magazines at the supermarket check-out.
